Kristen Wig plays Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons, a former Pageant Queen runner up from nowhere Tennessee who marries the black sheep of the Palm Beach Dellacorte Dynasty ruled by a comatose Carol Burnett (who is still hysterical even on a ventilator.) Maxine is determined to have her husband claim his rightful place as heir to the Dellacorte fortune while she makes it to the top of 1969 Palm Beach High Society.
